In celebration of JAY-Z’s pioneering and landmark debut album, ‘Reasonable Doubt’, @sothebys sold an NFT of original digital art by critically admired American artist @derrickadamsny. Derrick hired me as Animation Director to make his painting come to life!
Commissioned by JAY-Z, the one-of-one animated digital artwork titled, ‘Heir to the Throne’, comments on and recontextualizes the album cover of the legendary artist and entrepreneur. The auction is the only official event authorized by JAY-Z to commemorate ‘Reasonable Doubt’s’ historic 25th anniversary and a portion of the proceeds from the sale will benefit the @shawncartersf .

A collection of animated sketches and thoughts, from my sketchbook 2017-2020
This little planet may soon shake us off like fleas. It really doesn’t matter, and I bet the trees won’t miss us, but I bet the earth will breathe a sigh of relief as she erodes this condom of concrete that we imposed upon her.
Trust, drugs, love, religion, homelessness, selfless acts, aliens, gun violence, tech, porn, nature and industry are all interconnected. It’s this fabric, or web that weaves through us on both sides of reality. Transcending our perceived reality to tie all forms together in an ever-changing dance of tension and vacuum.
Ye of little significance, you of infinite importance. You loose vibration, young child, fiending young adults, happy fat ignorant bald old matriarch.
Stay here and brew your impending pain and elation, you sloppy ballistic joy!

Animation direction is a passion of mine! I have been lucky enough to work with some awesome creatives to realize their concepts, from idea-workshopping to final video completion.
I worked as Animation Director on the film Push My Buttons. It was written and directed by Natalia Kent. Natalia hired me to help her realize her concept for the film “Push My Buttons”, It was a big team with a lot of moving parts, but Natalia was very happy with the finished product. Enjoy
I made this music video “Now Way Out” for Brooklyn band None Above All. I started with a live performance footage. I chopped that up and abstracted it through the layering of various experimental 2D techniques. They were very happy with the high energy, experimental, hand-made feel of the video

I have been working with wood since I completed a furniture making apprenticeship in the late 1990’s.
It has been almost 3 decades since I started my woodworking journey in South Auckland, NZ.
3 decades later my work is exhibited in art shows, museums, and art studios/ galleries internationally.
My woodworking background spans many industries, from film and TV set design/construction, house building, home cabinetry, shop fitting and more.
I moved to Philadelphia in 2022. I dusted off my interior design skills and worked for an international design brand for 2 years, honing my solid wood, hand finishing and cnc machine knowledge.
Now I make my own work, and I never thought wood working would carry me this far!
I spent 6 months designing and making this with a great team of CNC operators, finishing experts, designers and hand craftspeople. What an awesome piece
I created this sculptural wall hanging using charred maple, perspex, bronze rod, weathered maple - wax finish. It is hung on a charred french cleat to give a shadow gap behind.
The table top is highly finished on both sides, because when the Murf Table flips up, it becomes a piece of highly finished, ornately decorated art.
I used Claro - Black Walnut, Ambrosia Maple, and some Bronze to make this fold - out piece of kinetic, functional art.
Maple top with inlaid bronze disc - textured to complement the grain, black walnut butterflies and patch, one oak bowtie.
Charred internal wood fracturing. I kept the bark on, and charred the free edge. I love the layering.
I put a maple kick-pad on the back and fixed it with a charred oak bowtie.
Charred live edge coffee table with highly intricate Claro grain figuring,
This experimental, cluster formation - display table, is made of day glow acrylic, maple, walnut, oak, bronze rod, and charred claro.
